i have a child that would be attending high school.
i dont want a commute to my job thats over 30 min.
thanks alot!!!!!!!!!
You need to mapquest– around 200 yards in any direction from your job- that is a 30 minute commute down here !!!
Deer Park ISD has good schools, but then so does La Porte ISD. However, on the southeast side of Greater Houston, perhaps the best schools are found in Clear Creek ISD and Friendswood ISD. Look for towns names such as : Deer Park, La Porte, Webster, Friendswood, League City, Seabrook, Surfside, and also portions of Houston and Pasadena in the Clear Lake area.
Pasadena, La Porte, Seabrook and Baytown are all close enough to Deer Park to potentially avoid a long commute. If you go west toward Houston on 225 your commute time will get worse. The individual neighborhood you move to will be a determining factor of course.
I live in Baytown and if traffic is not a problem I can take 225 into Houston’s Beltway 8 in about 30 minutes.
Take a look at har.com and look at homes in the Clear Creek school district.
Pasadena ISD and La Porte ISD are NOT good schools.
Clear Lake (Clear Creek ISD) is good.
East Pearland (zip code 77581) is not a long commute, and Pearland has one of the best school districts in Houston. Friendswood is good as well.
One thing to keep in mind is how industrial the East part of Houston is. That’s where the shipchannel is, all of the chemical plants and refineries, etc.
But please don’t take our word for it, do your own research as well!
Answer 1 has a few of the nicer choices. I comute from Houston(inside 610 loop) to Deer Park on a daily basis in 15 minutes. Their are also areas such as Baytown that are near as well.
There are some nice suburbs in Pasadena. I’m from NYC and like the city life, so midtown, Heights area is a good match, but I’m not sure how the schools are.
NYC, because Houston is boring.
